KING’S TABLE VS HEAD TABLE

Whether you are planning a wedding in Pittsburgh or afar, you will have to weigh the pros and cons of where you and your newly married spouse will be sitting during the wedding reception. For many years, the easy and traditional choice was to incorporate the use of a head table for wedding receptions. There was little, if any, thought put into alternative ideas. Quite simply, it was just what was done: wedding parties sit at the head table. Wedding guests loved it as they could easily view the entire wedding party all beautifully and handsomely dressed. However, having the wedding party sit together in a row on one side is not as enjoyable for those involved as conversation is limited to who is directly on your left and right. In addition, any plus ones or significant others are seated at a different table amongst other wedding guests.

A king’s table is an elegant and appropriate alternative to a head table. A king’s table is generally bigger and seating is designed on both sides allowing for better conversation. In addition, since this table is larger not only does it consist of the wedding party, but also significant others and immediate family as well. Most times, those seated at a king’s table generally prefer it as they are able to better enjoy one another’s company.

SWEETHEART TABLE

The other likely choice is the sweetheart table. Although you are temporarily separated from the rest of the party for a brief time, this will be the rare opportunity during your wedding for you and your spouse to just be you two together. To be able to share intimate words and moments for only your eyes and ears as newlyweds is a wonderful gift.

NOVALEE EVENTS CO – our take away

If NLE was getting married today, she would choose a king’s table. Even though there are benefits of a sweetheart table and a head table, the attributes of a king’s table outweigh them for her, personally. Being able to sit down with all who you hold dear to enjoy a meal while laughing & conversing throughout this unforgettable time would be a far better choice. However, this is NLE’s preference, but it is YOUR wedding day. Ultimate advice: choose the seating option that is best for you and your newly married spouse!
